ok sooo im terrible at keeping up...

But I do have a list of things that have happened so I'm gonna finish out November on this post and the next one will have December :)
Ryker had his first real bath on November 8th, he loved it he just hung out in it didn't cry at all. It was fun to get him all clean and see him experience water, will provide pics soon
Later that same night we went over to my Grandma and Grandpa Steadmans so he could meet his Great Grandparents. My Grandma has been sick for a while and bed ridden but bringing Ryker over it really seemed to boost her spirits we got a four generation picture with her which was neat and then a picture of my Grandpa holding him and then just the boys James, Grandpa and Ryker. My Grandma even held him, which I'm sure was somewhat of a feat since he's so heavy ;). My Aunt Jolene her husband Ted and her youngest Jamie then came over. Ryker was crying something fierce and my Aunt Jolene asked if jamie wanted to hold him, she seemed nervous but said yes I sat behind her to give her some support lol and he immediately stopped crying lol. I told her she was hired and if she'd like she could come and stay at our house :). A couple of minutes I heard her whisper to her mom "can you take him? My arms hurt" LOL thats my chunky boy!!!!
On November 19th my mom and I participated in an activity that seems to be a tradition now and kicks off the holiday season. It's my works annual craft fair. It was fun I didn't sell a thing (which unfortunately is the case every year why do I keep doing it? Because I get some real quality time with my mom- no siblings to share her with and just good times :)) my craft is glass etching, and this year I did a new thing I decorated baby wipe boxes they turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself ;). On this day Ryker also took his first bottle!!! It went well which I was glad I'd been pumping for days I was pretty worried he wouldn't take it but never fear my boy is part Garrett and Foster two families notorious for liking their food lol. He took the bottle like a champ.
I had my six week appt on the same day and everything went well, the best part was I found out at my last appt which was the friday before I had ryker I weighed a whopping 227 and at my six week appt I was at 190!!! The nurse seemed really suprised at how much weight I'd lost til she found out how much my baby was when he arrived, she then said "ah that makes sense" lol.
This next paragraph is typed with a heavy heart and tear filled eyes. My Grandma Steadman passed away on 11/24
:(
I'm soooooo grateful we went over with ryker when we did, I know that he's like the 49th great grandchild but every grandchild and great child was/is special to both my grandparents. It meant a lot to us that we got those pictures and I was able to see my Grandma relatively soon before she passed away. I'm also grateful that I was able to get closer to her, a couple of months before our wedding she was bed ridden and they had her at her house, my work worked with me and I was over at their house every morning it was a crazy time but so worth it I got to really get to know both of my Grandparents in a way I never had Grandpa would always make me breakfast and I would always have to get my Grandma to eat lol. My Grandma and I would watch the price is right together and guess (confession: the other day I saw that the price is right was on t.v. on my guide and I burst out in tears), she also taught me how to crochet, I didn't think I would be able to get it but she told me that once I did it would be easy. She was right. But so far I've only been able to make one thing and it was on accident lol. It's underwear ha ha. When she first taught me how she said to just do rows and practice that. Well the rows slowly started getting wider and wider when I finally took a really good look at it it was thin and then went wide, all I could think was that it looked like undies lol so I attached a chain on each side and called it a day. The next time I went over to my Grandparents house I said Grandma I made something wanna see? She said yes I then pulled them out and her eyes got wide and all she said was OH MY then she grinned lol.
The service for her was beautiful. The saddest part was watching my grandpa say goodbye :( before they closed the casket he leaned over and kissed her and then kissed her again and again. They were married over 60 years. I want that I want to be still in love with James in 60 yrs and when I go leave a fantastic legacy. My mom got to speak and it was amazing she did a great job IDK how she was able to do it, but she did a great job.
Thanksgiving was fun we had the week earlier done thanksgiving with my mom so we only had two dinners on turkey day. My dad and tracy came up for  the holiday and we had a big turkey day mral with all of my dads siblings and their kids. The night before we went to harry potter it was the first night out w/o ryker it was nice but I totally fell up the stairs pretty embarrassing right in front of all in the audience lol the funniest part was that I tripped up the stairs and tried to catch myself well I stumbled and eventually fell right as the lights went out for the movie to start :(.
Thanksgiving was good food and fun we had a dart gun fight. And then we staked out our shopping root for the morning. Yes my sisters and I do black friday. It worked out nicely this year because our vacuum had broken the day before and black friday you can get a really good deal on vacuums.
Black friday I just got a vacuum and some tupperware lol it wasn't a very good year we were done by 8 and we went to breakfast even.
Well this commences November I'm sure I forgot something and I will put up pictures that pertain to this soon :)

Four weeks---where has time gone?

Well I can't believe it but I have a one month old!!! So crazy!! His first month just flew by..... there was peeing and pooping and throwing up and long nights and maybe even a couple fights lol. But sooo worth it, I love him so much, and am sooo grateful for my little family. How fitting that the start of this journey is so close to a month where we all think about how grateful we are for things :)
Its been a lot longer then a week like I promised to update :( but hey at least its not a year or six months later ha ha!!!
So couple of things baby Ryker had his 2 week appt he's doing great he is now 10 pounds 11 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. Everything looks great according to the doctor :)
He was sleeping four hours between feedings but is now back to two lol (I fear part of this is my undoing, but its so nice to cuddle next to him) trying to get him back to four hours but he's as stubborn as his daddy lol.
He had his first halloween, it was fun he was a monkey and I was his bannana lol. The only size I could find was 0-6 months so it drowned him but he looked so cute, got to take him up to my work and show him off, it was fun and everyone loved him so much. We also went to a halloween party it was really nice to get out of the house and hang out with other adults lol.
This week started great and not so great, Dawn came over and helped me get the nursery finished but I started not feeling good by monday night I could barely move let alone pick up my ten pounder with out wincing. Went to the clinic on tuesday and apparently one of my milk ducts is infected, so I was put on antibiotics, told to hot pack it four times a day and continue to nurse (OMG OWWW! lol) by tuesday night I wasn't hardly achy at all and am feeling pretty spry today lol.

Cant think of much else to write for now, getting excited for turkey day!! My dad and step mom are coming up and can't wait to see them and be with family
Until next time loves and kisses

New arrival

Ok haven’t written in a while so I’ll just start kinda fresh with the announcement of the birth of our son!!!! and the crazy ride to get there lol.

My due date was 9/30 and my doctor had told me that he doesn’t like to go over 41 weeks so we should set up a n induction date. So at my appt on 9/27 we set up to start the inducing process on 10/5. I had another appt on 10/1 to see if I had started to efface at all. (My physician conveniently went out of the COUNTRY lol so I had to see another physician) when I was checked I was told that I had no effacement going on and that I was hardly dilated as the Dr put it “I could barely get a fingertip through and it’s a really great thing that I‘d already set up to get in the night before so they could help the effacement process”. So I worked on 10/4. And on 10/5 spent the day with my hubby and the bell’s knowing that it would be our last day just the three of us. We called the hospital at 6 was told to come at 8. We locked Bella up and headed over to Charby’s house to get a blessing from jaron and his dad, it really helped calm my nerves and reassure us both. We got to the hospital a little late @ 830 and was told that they currently did not have a bed but that someone just gave labor so they should be out of the room in an hour and to come back. So we headed down to the cafeteria James got some dinner and I got fries and some really really yummy ice cream. I decided eating the ice cream that I would like to have some again after the delivery James said if I did a good job he would get it for me lol. After an hour we headed back up. They got us a room I changed into the gown and they asked what we wanted with the delivery, the board (which we forgot to take pictures of kicking my self) listed dad’s name and baby boy rykers name which I loved because everyone that came in called him ryker instead of baby. The board also listed that we wanted dad to cut the cord, mom wanted an epidural and wanted baby skin to skin ASAP. So after that was all squared away they checked me again, and again I was told nothing zip nada (this boy is stubborn just like his dad ;)) so they gave me cytotec, to help start contractions and help my uterus “rippen”. They also did a sonogram to make sure head was down and it was, the took blood for some labs and then told us to hang in there, they would start the pitocin in the morning. The nurse came in a while later saying that my blood had a random antibody in it, and they asked if I had had a transfusion I said no and she said that the only reason they worry about it is if I need a transfusion (which is rare) and it could affect my next pregnancy. Later they came in and did another sonogram to make sure ryker didn’t have any fluid around his heart or other organs (this could be a sign that the antibody was affecting him) there wasn’t, Around 2 am they came in and checked me I was at a two so they started the pitocin. They checked me again @8 and broke my water--shortly thereafter I got an epidural/ At 12 the doctor came in concerned cause ryker wasn’t moving much they put me on my side and had me wear oxygen, it helped him a lot, I was at a six and by 250 I was fully effaced and fully dilated--the on call Dr wanted to wait an hour-- hoping gravity would do a lot of the work for me. At around four we started pushing, I had my mom and James right by me and couldn’t ask for a better set of coaches J. At 17:19 he was born, they cleaned him up and put him directly on my chest, I knew he was a big boy but had no idea until they weighed him 10 pounds 8.3 ounces lol and 21 inches long!!!! No wonder I was so “huge” as everyone kept telling me.

After they got us both cleaned up and I ate, they moved us to our room, we had tons of family and friends visit and meet our new addition, it was awesome. He was notorious on the maternity floor, new employee’s would come in and say oh he’s big! Is this the ten pound baby? And I’d get a lot of did you have a C-section? Lol.

We’ve been home now a week and I’m so content with the life we’ve built. James is an amazing dad, he’s so sweet and patient and I’ve never felt closer to him. Ryker is such a good baby, he really only cries when he’s hungry and nurses like a champ lol.

Well I think that is all for now. I will try to update at least once a week so check back J

Love the fosters J

Well well well lol

Its been almost a year since I last blogged something ha ha and whoopsi :) SO much has happened. I'm sure most of you know we are about to have a new little foster!!! Five weeks and counting, although I think this little guy is gonna make his appearance early :). His name will be Ryker Thomas Foster. Ryker was the only boys name we could decide on lol Thomas after James father who passed away. We are very very excited and nervous but can't wait to meet him. We also moved into a house this summer!!! Its very nice we are currently renting but hope that one day we will be able to buy :) James brother is living with us to help subsidize the rent for now its really nice to have him here, he brings a lot of comedic relief and bella just loves him :). That pretty much catches us up now, I'm gonna really try and do a weekly update so keep checkin back :)

Here we go again.....

Hello!!!
Well I'm a week off but thats about how life goes here in the foster home :) We've had two puppy classes with bella and she catches on really fast but is also very stubborn so she knows what we want her to do its just a matter of if she wants to do it :). She's a fun and hectic and busy addtion to our family. Some friends and myself from work had a girls night/puppy night on thursday it was tons of fun bella was the smallest but definately dominated the other two dogs LOL. She I believe she will forever think she is a forty pound pitbull ;). Some news about the adults in the house. James got put back on his forty hours!!! Which is great news for us; and couldn't have come at a better time since my OT got cut :( so again we will be about even but hopefully/eventually we will get back on top :). I've been taking a cake class with dawn, this upcoming tuesday will be our last one :( for a minute cause of deer hunt but we will be back in class in November learning all about fondant! I can't wait I've been anticipating this class since we started. I'm excited I have about five cakes on order right one due the end of this week the others are all due in November LOL. So it'll be a busy busy month but its all good. Well that about sums things up sorry its so short but I've got a leash wrapped around my leg with a whimpering dog at the end so I should go!!
But love you all and thanks for reading our little blog
